X-Men: Channing Tatum In Talks To Play New Role In Solo Movie
The Magic Mike star is said to be playing a mutant in his own spin-off film...
Channing Tatum has reportedly met with producers of X-Men to talk about taking-up a role in the comic book franchise.
The film's producer Lauren Shuler Donner has previously revealed that she wanted the Magic Mike star on board to play the role of Gambit for a solo film.
And now it seems that the producer's wish may be granted.
Tatum has also previously told MTV how much he'd wanted to play the Cajun mutant.
"I met with Lauren Shuler Donner. And I would love it. Gambit is really the only X-Man I've ever loved", he revealed.
"He's just kind of suave... He's the most un X-Men X-man that's ever been in X-men. Other than maybe Wolverine, who's like the anti-hero. He's a thief. He's not even a hero", Tatum explained.
And that's not the only surprise announced for the X-Men franchise.
Amid reports that her scenes for the new film had been cut, it's now been reported that Anna Paquin will appear in X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Director Bryan Singer had previously said he had to remove the actress' only scene due to time constraints.
The film company 20th Century Fox has told BuzzFeed that the star, who plays Rouge in the upcoming movie, has made the final cut after all.
Paquin's name also appears in the latest trailer for the new film, which will be released in the UK on 22 May.
