Charli XCX and Troye Sivan Relive ‘1999’ In Iconic Music Video

Give this ALL of the awards! "INVENTED NOSTALGIA", as Charli says...

Move aside Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, Charli XCX and Troye Sivan are coming for every category at the 2019 Oscars with their incredible new music video.

The pop star duo debuted the super nostalgic visual for their epic, sexy collaboration ‘1999’ one week after it dropped and it takes the banger to even greater heights.

If you’re stuck for Halloween costume ideas then you won’t be for long as Charlye (or Trorli?) serve up a dozen different looks referencing some of the most iconic 1999 moments - and there were lots.

From the Backstreet Boys to the American Beauty’s rose scene to TLC to Eminem, this video is one of the funnest we have watched in a long, long time and it’s pure unadulterated joy.

Just like her incredible ‘Boys’ video, Charli’s ability to fully realise her songs with her humour and vision is unmatched (she co-produced this one!) and the ‘1999’ clip is easily her best yet.

Seriously, who else could pull off being Steve Jobs and all five of the Spice Girls just seconds apart? Never mind be brave enough to recreate Jack and Rose’s major ‘flying’ scene in Titanic?

Charli and Troye must have had so much fun making this one, and they both absolutely kill it from the straight up lewks to the hilarious set-ups. They’re absolute superstars.

If you thought you were obsessed with this tune already then just brace yourself...Happy (early) Halloween!
