Charlie Sheen Cast As US President
Troubled actor set to play leader of free world in forthcoming movie...
Charlie Sheen has followed in his father's footsteps, being cast as the US President in a forthcoming movie.
The troubled actor has won the role in Machete Kills, director Robert Rodriguez's sequel to Grindhouse.
Rodriguez tweeted: "I just cast Charlie Sheen in #machetekills as the President of the United States! Who better? More soon..."
And Sheen re-tweeted it, commenting: "My Fellow Americans!"
His dad Martin Sheen played the President in political TV drama The West Wing.
Sheen will be appearing alongside Danny Trejo, Michelle Rodriguez, Amber Heard, Mel Gibson and Sofia Vergara in the movie, which is slated for release next year.
He recently declared that he would quit acting when he has finished appearing in sitcom Anger Management.
He said: "I've got a dream life as a direct result of television, you know? But at some point you just get tired of wearing somebody else's clothes, saying somebody else's words and working in somebody else's space.
"When I'm done with this business it's just going to be about soccer games and amusement parks. And when this ends, I'm done. This is my swan song… There's a lot more out there to do than make-believe, you know?"
Charlie recently admitted he had been in denial about his situation after getting fired last year.
