Gnarls Make It Nine!
But the reign ends this week as theyve deleted the single...
Gnarls Barkley have held on to the number spot in the UK Singles Chart once again, but will now delete the single, they have announced.
Fending off competition from the likes of Sandi Thoms I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker, Primal Screams Country Girl, Ordinary Boys and Lady Sovereigns Nine2Five and Matt Williss Up All Night, Gnarls Barkleys Crazy sits pretty at the top for its ninth consecutive week.
But in a weird statement, the Barkley have announced that the run will not continue as they have now pulled the plug on the release and focus instead on the next single Smiley Faces, released on July 17.
"I consider myself a realist, the statement reads. I suppose that goes for most of us. But I have found a way to at once hold them, fold them, walk away and run. This was not a painless decision. But pain is nothing but a bi-product of beauty. Potentially toxic, to be sure, but that's all it is."
