Cheryl Cole Edging Closer To Britain’s Got Talent Deal?
As judge Michael McIntyre quits the show ahead of the new series...
The funnyman is the second judge to leave before the start of the new series, following the sacking of Baywatch actor David Hasselhoff.
The music mogul revealed: "Cheryl on BGT? That's not a bad idea. That was the first show she was offered. She had cold feet with two days to go and that's how we gotAmanda Holdenon the show."
It is thought that Holden may also fail to return to the BGT panel after announcing that she is pregnant with her second child, which is due in the New Year.
The news of McIntyre's exit means the show is likely to return in 2012 with a brand new line-up, which could mean the return of Cheryl to our TV screens.
A source told The Mirror: "Simon has made no secret of his interest in bringing Cheryl back. Now Michael’s seat has become available on the panel, this could be the vehicle for her TV comeback.”
"Michael enjoyed doing the show but his first love is stand-up comedy and that is what he is going to concentrate on in 2012. He is going to go on a huge 100-date tour and so was waiting to hear from ITV about what dates he needed to keep clear to do BGT."
They added: “They messed him around and didn’t come back to him so he decided to quit. He couldn’t wait for ever and he also knows he can earn more from his comedy. He wasn’t going to sit around and find out if they wanted him again for weeks on end. He doesn’t need the job.”
ITV have since confirmed McIntyre's exit, stating: "Michael was a fantastic new addition to the Britain’s Got Talent judging panel. We wish him all the very best with his tour and look forward to working with him again.”
While the comedian may have quit BGT, Cheryl Cole was all smiles last night as she attended the launch party of her shoe collection for Stylistpick.com.
The gorgeous Geordie wore her new blonde crop up in a high beehive as she donned a figure-hugging red dress for the occasion.
Chezza also posted a snap of her enjoying a cocktail before the event, accompanied with the post: "It's shoe time…Haha ;)"
