Cheryl Cole Keeps Married Name

No return to Tweedy for the X Factor judge...

Despite Cheryl Cole’s impending divorce, she has decided against reverting to her maiden name of Tweedy and will release her second solo album under her married name.

The Girls Aloud as X Factorand launched her solo career.

A source close to Cheryl said her decision not to revert to her maiden name was inspired by soul legend Tina Turner, who kept her married name when she split from Ike Turner: "She is a fan of Tina Turner. Tina was divorced during her career but decided to stick with her married name because it was how she was best known.

"Cheryl has decided her married name will stay. She feels the most successful period of her career has been under the name Cole,” the source explained. “She's established in Europe. Going back to her maiden name Tweedy would be confusing.

"It also shows she is bigger than Ashley and prepared to be grown up about a difficult time in her life."

Cheryl flew to Los Angeles over a week ago to work on new solo material and is on track to complete her album in time to launch the first single on this year's X Factor.
