Cheryl Cole 'Pressurised' Into Axing Gamu For Katie?
As Gamu-gate rages on after fans 'boycotted' this weekend's X Factor...
The 27-year old judge told viewers: "I could not be happier or prouder. Each one of my girls have done me justice."
However, reports have now suggested that Chezza told pals she was 'pressurised' into picking Katie instead of Gamu at her Judges House, after reports there were problems with the 18-year old's visa.
A friend of Cole's told the Sunday Mirror: "She has been made the fall guy in all this. Her decision came down to a choice between Katie and Gamu. She was struggling to choose between both girls as her third act."
"But at this point producers stepped in and told Cheryl there were concerns over Gamu's visa and that for that reason Katie was the safer option."
They added: "She wasn't sure Gamu had the X Factor or that she was right to be one of her walk-in final three. It turned out her own opinion was irrelevant and even if Gamu had been right to pick, Cheryl's hands were tied."
The source also claimed that Cheryl considered Gamu as her wildcard choice, but was forced to pick Treyc Cohen over the teenager, after Nhengu's family were told they faced deportation back to their native Zimbabwe.
Meanwhile, fans still angry at the Promise This singer's decision to axe Gamu apparently boycotted this weekend's XF, to show their support of the singer.
The Daily Star reports that the series lost 3 million viewers after a mass boycott of the show was arranged by websites and forums, still upset at Chezza for axing Gamu.
An insider told the tabloid: “It seems Cheryl is losing her tag as the X Factor golden girl.”
