Cheryl Cole Ruled Out Of The Voice

She will not be a judge on the new BBC talent show…

The BBC has decided not to offer Cheryl Cole a position on new talent show The Voice, it has been reported.

The Geordie was keen to make a fresh start away from ITV and her people had met with BBC staff to discuss the series, but now show bosses have decided to hire stars with no judging experience.

"Cheryl is liked by everyone at the Beeb but it soon became clear we should start completely fresh," a source told The Sun. "We've got the show for at least two years - it's a great opportunity to grow our own coaches. We will be signing big names."

The Voice has proved popular in the States. Judges Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green and Adam Levine from Maroon 5 do not see the contestants, to ensure they are judged solely on their vocal ability.

The UK version will hit our screens in 2012; stars linked to the show so far include Robbie Williams, Adele and Charlotte Church.
