Cheryl Cole has revealed that Girls Aloud bandmate Nicola Roberts was "too busy" to write any songs for her forthcoming album, A Million Lights.
According to The Mirror, Chezza claimed that she approached Roberts to pen a track, but she had to turn down the opportunity to focus on her Dainty Doll make-up range instead.
Speaking about Nicola, the newspaper quotes Cole as saying: "I was trying to get her to write one but she didn’t have time. Cheers for that, too busy creating lipstick colours!”
While the former X Factor judge failed to land a collaboration with Roberts, Cheryl has worked with the likes of Calvin Harris, Will.I.Am and Lana Del Rey on the record.
In the same interview, the 28-year old also confessed that LP tune Screw You - which is thought to be about her ex-hubby Ashley Cole - was actually written for her because she turned up to the studio still drunk.
The Call My Name singer explained: "I went in to record it hung over. I never do that. I’m not a big drinker but I was still drunk when I woke up.”
The song sees Chezza singing the lyrics: "Can't believe all the s*** I did for you, was so caught up in the love I felt for ya.
"I was never enough, I never got your love. I loved you so much but you never gave a f*** so screw you. I can still remember our first date, never thought I would scream I hate ya."
Cheryl's new album A Million Lights is due for release on 18th June.
