VMAs, but one person who was missing from the star-studded bash in LA was Cheryl Cole.
Reports suggest that Chezza opted not to attend the ceremony, in favour of spending the weekend with rumoured boyfriendGirls Aloud star and Hough enjoyed a romantic weekend together instead of attending the award show at the Ashley Coleearlier this month, is thought to have jetted out to Los Angeles last Thursday to visit Derek after X Factor back in the UK.
The Dancing With The Stars performer is thought to have treated Cheryl to a candlelit dinner at the Sunset Marquis hotel on the Saturday evening.
A diner at the restaurant told the tabloid: "They looked like the perfect couple. Derek couldn't take his eyes off Cheryl and she didn't stop smiling the whole night."
"They looked so into each other, it was like watching a couple of lovesick teenagers. They were being very tactile and flirty - they didn't seem to care who saw them."

They added: "Derek was being a true gent and treated Cheryl like a princess. He even pulled her chair out for her as she got up to leave before they slipped off quietly through a back exit."

Derek's DWTS co-star, Karina Smirnoff, also told the newspaper that Hough is 'head-over-heels' for the Parachute singer, claiming: "Derek is so in love. He's the happiest he has ever been. He deserves to be happy, Cheryl makes him smile."

Meanwhile, Cheryl's new single from her second solo LP has aired for the very first time on radio station's across the UK.
Promise This, which is thought to be about her battle with malaria, got it's premiere on Radio 1 this morning at 8am.
The track, which would not sound out of place on a Girls Aloud album, has more of a dance feel than her previous hits and even features Chezza speaking a bit of French!
Cheryl will allegedly perform the song, complete with her sexiest routine ever, on the first X Factor live show later this year.
