Despite reports over the last few days saying she was unlikely to be a judge on the X Factor USA, apparently Cheryl Cole IS still in the running for a place on the show.
The Promise This star is said to be frustrated with the ongoing uncertainty over her role in the US version of the hit series, with a pal telling The Sun:
"She cannot hide from all the reports which one week say she is definitely doing it, the next week definitely not.
"She wants to be told for certain soon to put all this to bed once and for all."
Chezza was spotted over the weekend spending time with rumoured beau Derek Hough in an LA hotel as she waited for confirmation one way or the other.
An "insider" told The Mirror that even if Cheryl doesn't secure a place on the US XF panel, she still aims to do her best to launch her career in the States, saying:
“She’s ready to give America her best shot and that may or may not include being on the X Factor out here. As far as she’s concerned she just wants to know the truth instead of being used as the pawn to get publicity for the show.”
Simon Cowell is said to be fighting to persuade TV execs that despite being relatively unknown in the US, Cheryl would make a great judge.
But Simon has also been in talks with Mariah Carey, Jessica Simpson, Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul - and there can be only two women judges.
