Despite their romance, Derek's stepmum, Debra Hough, has admitted to Now magazine that she has never met The Flood singer, but is a "big fan" of Cheryl.
Debra, who is married to Derek's father Bruce, told the publication: "It hasn't been convenient to meet her yet but I'm looking forward to it. I've listened to her music and I'm a big fan."
When asked about her stepson's romance with Cole, the 54-year old stated: "I decline to talk about their relationship. I can't say."

Derek's oldest friend, Corky Ballas, also weighed in on Chezza and Dezza's union, confessing that Hough "doesn't talk" about his feelings for the Fight For This Love hitmaker.
Ballas explained to Now: "I don't think it's a secret they're dating. They see each other but he doesn't come out and say that she's his woman."
"He likes her but he doesn't talk about her. Derek's a quiet guy. He's all about dancing and singing."
Corky, who raised Derek as his own son after the dancer moved to London when he was 12-year's old, also revealed that like Debra, he also hasn't been introduced to Cheryl.

He admitted: "I haven't met her yet. I'm sure I will eventually. She's in England a lot and the couple of times she's been in LA it's been a very quick trip."
"She seems a lovely lady. I've watched her videos on YouTube and I think she's terrific."
Ballas also claimed that he has been advising Derek on his romance with Cheryl, adding: "My advice to Derek is just relax, take it one day at a time. I guess they're testing the waters."
"If I was in his shoes I wouldn't say anything until they know it's going to work. I wouldn't announce anything. You know how people like to gossip."
