More details regarding Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's wedding have emerged, with the pastor who conducted the ceremony admitting he never knew who the Geordie babe was.
Despite being one of the most famous women in the UK, Pastor Devon R Ollivierre has confessed to The Mirror that he didn't have a clue Chezza was famous when she wed beau, Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Virsini.
Speaking of their nuptials - which took place on July 7 on Mustique’s Macaroni Beach - Pastor Devon revealed: "I married Cheryl last week. She was wearing a white dress with a train and her husband was wearing black pants and a white shirt.
"They seemed very in love, the atmosphere was incredibly captivating – even if I didn’t know who she was."
He went on: "They looked incredible. It seemed intense. There were no tears and they didn’t seem nervous, it was very natural. With the way they were dressed, the white sand and the way they were speaking to each other, it was lovely.
“Despite being done on the open beach, it was very private. The beauty of it was that the sun was going down and the light was lovely.”
The ceremony is thought to have lasted just 30 minutes, with Cheryl's mum Joan and her PA Lily England present.
Pastor Devon explained: "It was like a church ceremony on the beach. They seemed very in love the way they were reacting in front of me. The vows were short and at the end of the ceremony they kissed, there was a lot of passion. “After the wedding, Cheryl said she had a great time. But there was no singing.
“I came to understand she was a singer but I didn’t know who she was. She told me she just wanted something modest.
He continued: “All the things about God were in the ceremony, they didn’t ask to take anything out. They would say what I asked them to repeat – and at the end of the service, they said, ‘So help me God’.
“There is a part where you bless the bride and groom. I touched their foreheads with my finger and prayed.
“I am not concerned about people being famous or not famous, I am just concerned about people being married and staying together.
“I love to know the weddings I do are for that. It was a very special day.”When asked if he stayed on the island to celebrate with the newlyweds, Pastor Devon stated: "I did not stay for the reception. Normally I just go for the ceremony and then I leave, even if I have been invited to stay.
“I have done a lot of weddings, I’ve been doing it for about more than 20 years. But I have not done many weddings in Mustique. This was special.”
Meanwhile, the Crazy Stupid Love singer's pal Simon Cowell took to Twitter to congratulate her on her marriage last night (July 17), writing: "I still can't believe my lil buddy Cheryl got married. Had no idea. He is a great guy. Am very happy for them."
