Cheryl Fernandez-Versini is determined to be known by her new married name – and will correct anyone who gets it wrong.

So when warm up man Ian Royce reportedly introduced her as ‘Cheryl Cole’ before Sunday’s X Factor’s results show, Chezza was quick to put him straight.

An insider told The Sun, Cheryl “looked really peeved. She said, ‘Cole is not my name!’”.

They added: “Royce said he had trouble pronouncing it but she gave him a withering look and said it wasn’t hard to say ‘unless you were arrogant and had no common sense’.”

Chezza isn't one to hold a grudge though, and is said to have now forgiven the presenter.

The paper reports Sinitta saying that an edict had gone round not to refer to Cheryl by her old surname.

She said: “Do not use the C-word in this building. The four-letter C-word, Cole.”
