Cheryl Has Become The Most Successful Female British Singer In The UK
Cheryl scored her fifth UK number one yesterday, and in doing so became the most successful female British singer in the country.
"Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me!!! Today we made history. I can't tell you how grateful and lucky I feel to all of you," the X Factor judge tweeted on receiving a special plaque in honour of the accolade.
[related]The singer's previous number ones include Crazy Stupid Love feat. Tinie Tempah (2014), Call My Name (2012), Promise This (2010) and Fight For ThisLove (2009).
Chezza has taken over the record from Geri Halliwell and Rita Ora, who previously jointly held the title.
However the singer still has some way to go if she wants to catch up with the likes of Madonna, Rihanna and Kylie Minogue, who have had 13, eight and seven UK number ones respectively.
