Despite rumours that Cheryl and Liam Payne were opting to name their son Taylor, they've pulled a blinder on all of us and settled for the more adventurous moniker of Bear.

Having kept silent throughout both pregnancy and birth, it's said that Cheryl and Liam wanted to take their time about committing to a nameto avoid selecting something they might regret.

Revealing that it took them a week to come to a decision, a source told The Sun:“Cheryl and Liamwanted to get to know their baby before deciding on a name.They spent over a week getting to know him first before deciding.

Even so, Bear was something of a wildcard in their shortlist: “They didn’t have the name Bear before the birth.But they’d been thinking of a name since meeting him and they just felt it suited him.

"They love their little baby Bear Payne and are truly over the moon and loving being parents for the first time together.”

The internet has naturally hada mixed reaction to the name, with some fans loving it and others cracking all kinds of jokes about Chez being in bear pain during her contractions.

Oh, it's all too easy, isn't it?
