Chris Brown Arrested For Felony Assault
Breezy is accused of breaking a man's nose after an alleged fight...
Chris Brown was arrested in Washington, D.C., early Sunday morning (October 27) after allegedly assaulting a man outside a hotel.
According to Rihannaand currently, it is unclear how this latest arrest could affect his probation.
As part of a plea deal in the RiRi case that allowed him to avoid jail time, the 24-year old was sentenced to five years of probation and more than 1,400 hours of community labour.
The victim reportedly told TMZ that Brown broke his nose, which may require surgery and that the altercation took place after the man and a friend photobombed a picture Chris was taking with two female fans; the man was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Unnamed law enforcement sources told the site that after the victim and a male friend jumped into the shot, Brown allegedly said: "I'm not into gay s**t, I'm into boxing," and then punched the man.
Brown's attorney could not be reached by MTV News US for comment at press time, but a spokesperson for the Washington D.C. police department confirmed the arrest of the singer and Hollosy.
Both were still in custody at press time and would remain so until at least Monday morning when court re-opens for business and they can appear before a judge to request bail; both men were charged with felony assault.
TMZ, quoting unnamed sources close to Brown, said the victim did not photobomb Brown, but instead was trying to get onto the star's tour bus when Brown stepped in to stop him.
The victim, who said he is not a fan of Brown's, was confused about why the Turn Up The Music hitmaker made the homophobic slur against him and that he would have accepted an apology at the scene, but is not likely to press charges against the singer.
Brown was in town to host a "homecoming party" at the Park at Fourteen club on Saturday night, just a few blocks from where the fight took place.
If a judge finds Brown in violation of his probation from the Rihanna incident, he could be sent to jail for up to four years.
Chris' probation was violated earlier this year in connection with an investigation into questions about the reporting of hours for his community service from his assault on RiRi. He did not serve additional jail time in that case and his probation was reinstated, but was ordered to complete another 1,000 hours of community labour.
Brown's lawyer reached a settlement with prosecutors in August in connection with another investigation into a possible probation violation in connection with a hit-and-run car crash in Los Angeles. After being booked and released in the hit-and-run investigation, Brown threatened to retire from music.
The singer is scheduled to appear at a probation status hearing on November 20, according to CNN.
This is at least the third brawl Brown has been involved in over the past year. Earlier this year he reportedly clashed with singer Frank Ocean outside a Los Angeles recording studio; that case was dropped after Ocean declined to press charges.
In that incident Brown (or someone else in his entourage) was also alleged to have used a homophobic slur against Ocean, who has spoken publicly about his bisexuality.
Brown also was at the centre of a bottle-smashing fight involving Drake at a New York nightspot last year that did not end in any formal charges against either man.
