Chris Brown Charged With Assault
The star could face four years in prison…
Chris Brown has been released on $50,000 (£34,800) bail after being charged with felony assault and making criminal threats, also a felony.
The L.A. County District Attorney charged Brown today (Thursday March 5th) following his arrest in February after a woman, rumoured to be Rihanna, accused him of assaulting her.
Though there has been no official confirmation of whether the woman Brown is alleged to have attacked was Rihanna - whose real name is Robyn Fenty - the charging documents are reported to refer to the victim as ‘Robyn F’.
Both Brown and Rihanna have so far failed to comment publicly on the specifics of the alleged attack, although Brown has previously released a statement saying he was “sorry and saddened” about the incident, and was seeking counselling.
Brown could face up to a potential four years and eight months in prison if found guilty.
