Chris Brown Trial Going Ahead As Legal Bid Rejected

Wayward R&B star will be prosecuted for alleged assault after judge dismisses his legal objection...

Chris Brown IS set to face trial for an alleged assault on a man in the street in Washington DC, after a judge rejected his legal team's bid to get the case dismissed.

Breezy is accused of breaking the nose of Parker Adams after the alleged victim had photobombed a snap that he was taking with two fans last October.

His lawyers had claimed that prosecutors had abused the legal process and made the case "the most-investigated misdemeanour of all time."

But judge Patricia Wynn rejected the claim by Brown's lawyer Mark Geragos and the trial is going ahead on 21 April in the US capital.

CNN reports that Brown was flown to Washington from Los Angeles by "Con-Air" and he is currently being held in custody.

Although the offence is only a misdemeanour in the US legal system, Brown is in jail because he previously violated the terms of his probation for his assault on ex-GF Rihanna - for which he was convicted in 2009.
