Chris Brown Pleads Guilty To Assault Charge In Washington DC

The Loyal singer was joined by girlfriend Karrueche Tran as he attended court today to hear the fate of his latest trial...

Chris Brown has pleaded guilty to hitting a man outside a hotel in Washington DC, an incident that occurred while the singer was still on probation for attacking his then-girlfriend Rihanna.

He was accused of attacking photographer Parker Adams as he tried to join a picture the singer was taking with two female fans outside the hotel.

The Loyal rapper has been sentenced to time served in jail, meaning he was free to go home after the hearing. Brown had already served 2 days in jail in connection with this case.

The Grammy winner had previously pleaded not guilty to the accusation, as well as rejecting similar plea deals in June.

Outside court, Brown's lawyer, Danny Onorato, argued that he had already been punished extensively for the assault.

“To say that he’s been punished severely in this matter is an understatement,” Onorato said.

Brown spoke only briefly, saying: “I would like to say to the court that I’m sorry.”

The singer was recently at the centre of reports of a shooting at his unnofficial pre-VMAs party, where Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight was injured and treated for gunshot wounds.
