Chris Brown ‘Thanks The Lord' As Rihanna Case Finally Ends
Singer fulfills probation conditions for assaulting his then GF six years ago...
The R&B singer embraced his lawyer at a hearing in a Los Angeles court after the judge announced that he had completed community service requirements and closed the case.
Expressing his relief on social media, Brown tweeted: "IM OFF PROBATION!!!!!!!! Thank the Lord!!!!!!"
Sky News reports that Brown's lawyer described the hearing as "a monumental feat” and said: "I couldn't be more delighted,” as he left the court.
Brown had pleaded guilty to the assault, which took place just hours before the 2009 US Grammy Awards, and had been under supervision since.
In 2013, the singer performed a show in California without permission, which led to his probation being revoked. Later the same year, he hit a man outside a hotel and was charged with assault and ordered into rehab – but was kicked out for breaking the rules, which saw him spend two-and-a-half months in custody.
Brown has previously said that he is "eternally grateful" that RiRi has forgiven him for assaulting her.
"I just tried my best to be the best man I could be over the years and just show her how remorseful and sorry I was for the incident," he told Ryan Seacrest on his US radio show.
"That time was probably the worst part of my life," he said.
"Being at that young age I can tell you I was arrogant and definitely hotheaded.
"Everybody has a temper, but for me it was not knowing how to control it when I thought I had the world in my hands."
Meanwhile, RiRi has been hinting that one of her ex boyfriends was a "beast". We wonder who that could be..?
