Chris Brown's Mum Urges Him To Discuss RiRi Assault
Joyce Hawkins claims it will help him "learn to deal" with the attack...
Chris Brown's mother has urged the R&B star to break his silence over the events that led to Rihanna, so that he can "learn to deal with it" and put his anger issues behind him.
The 22-year old, who attacked RiRi before a pre-Grammy Awards party in 2009, has famously refused to discuss the incident, most recently erupting with rage at the Good Morning America studios after being quizzed about it by host, Robin Roberts.
Now, Breezy's mum, Joyce Hawkins - who is a victim of domestic abuse herself - has claimed that she wishes Chris would speak about the attack on RiRi, or it will continue to trouble him.
In an interview with Sister 2 Sister magazine, Hawkins explained: "I think he really needs to talk about the situation in itself, what actually happened to Rihanna... so that he can get that out for himself. "
"He has to learn to deal with it and go on with his life. This is something that happened; it was a huge mistake... it was not good at all."
She added: "But he is still a human being and we all make mistakes and we live and we go on with it. But he has to own it, deal with it and move on with his life".
The Beautiful People singer, who has been forced to scrap a gig in Oz after being hit with a severe viral illness, recently had a restraining order Rihanna had imposed against him relaxed.
