Chris Hemsworth Explains Why He Moved His Family Back To Australia
We’re 99.9% sure we’ll never have to make any decisions about staying in the midst of Hollywood life or retreating to somewhereaway from the hustle and bustle like Chris Hemsworth, mainly because our drama skills are zero to none.
Still, we're more than a little intrigued to hear why Chris Hemsworth decided to make such a bigchange with his family - wife Elsa Pataky, four-year-old daughter India and two-year-old twins Tristan and Sasha - less than 18 months ago.
The 'Thor' actor told Modern Luxury: “LA is a tough place to get around with the kids. There’s not a whole lot of foot traffic. It was all about loading up the car and car seats. Here, we just walk out the door and head down to the beach down the street. It’s a much more simple life.”
He added: “I love what I do as an actor, but when you are surrounded by it constantly, it becomes a bit suffocating. It’s nice to have conversations with people and be a part of a community that doesn't live and breathe that world.
"We were living shoulder to shoulder in the suburbs and thought that's not how we want our kids to grow up. Moving to a kind of farm setup back here on the coast in Australia has been the best thing.”
He added that he loves and is ‘incredibly proud’ of his country, and that his kids are his number one priority, explaining that he now waits for his kids to ‘come give me a hug and tell me they love me’ at home.
Chris said: “It's no longer all about me, which is quite refreshing. Once the kids arrived, I was like, 'Wow, this is what life is about.”
Too. Cute.
