Chris Martin’s Peter Crouch Tribute

Coldplay close Isle Of Wight Festival

Coldplay closed the Isle Of Wight Festival last night with a tribute to England football hero Peter Crouch.
Chris Martin told the crowd: Ive got a secret to share with you. If England do well in the World Cup were going to release a single called Do The Crouch. So if England win the world cup were going to get our first number one.
He went on to reveal the song would include the lyrics Get up off the sofa/ get up off the couch/ stop what youre doing and do the Crouch. Powerful words indeed.
The band played the festivals closing set and included classics like Yellow, Fix You and The Scientist, and they also performed a cover of Lou Reeds Perfect Day. Earlier in the evening Reed himself had performed, followed by a blistering set from Richard Ashcroft who called for Tony Blair to bring home British troops from Iraq.
