Christina Aguilera has revealed on Twitter that she is engaged to boyfriend Matthew Rutler.

The singer wrote: "He asked and I said..." and included a photo of the pair on a beach showing off a diamond ring.

Christina met Matthew three years ago when he was working as a production assistant on her movie Burlesque.

The couple have managed to keep their relationship relatively quiet, however, they were pictured together celebrating Christina's birthday in December and were recently seen out shopping in West Hollywood.

Xtina was previously married to Jordan Bratman, with whom she shares custody of their six-year-old son Max.

Ironically, she finalised her divorce from Jordan on Valentine's Day three years ago.
