If You Call This Hotline They Will Sing You Any Christmas Carol You Want
We'll have Justin Bieber's 'Under The Mistletoe' on repeat please.
Forget carol singers turning up at your door, shaking their buckets and belting out a round of Once In Royal David's City, because this is 2015 and of course there's now a digital alternative to this particular festive tradition.
In an age when most of us live in the type of building where you'd have to be buzzed in to be able to get anywhere near anyone's front door, a canny group of carol enthusiasts have come up with a winner of an alternative.
Enter Dial-A-Carol, a hotline which you can call at any time of day or night and request the operative who picks up to sing any Christmas carol your heart desires.
The enterprise is run by the residents of Snyder Hall at the University of Illinois and all week they will be at the end of the phone just waiting for your calls.
The tradition apparently started back in 1960 and has since grown into something a little more epic, with the line expected to have thousands of callers not just from the US, but from all over the world during its week of opening.
So whether you love Christmas more than Santa himself or you're having a rubbish day and need a hit of festive cheer, you can call them on +1 (217) 332 1882 or check out the info here and get requesting.
We're thinking of starting with a bit of Driving Home For Christmas before moving onto Ariana Grande's Santa Tell Me and Justin Bieber's Under The Mistletoe, in case you need a little request inspiration there.
If you're the classic type and were thinking of asking for Mariah Carey's version of All I Want For Christmas, you should know now that the students have instated a 'Mariah Meter' to count the requests, its that popular. Last year it came in at 339 requests, which is whole lotta warbling down a phone line.
