Chvrches, The 2 Bears, La Roux For MTV Music Week In Glasgow

Fans given chance to see top music talent at iconic city venues with MTV Music Week from Monday 3 Nov 3 to Sunday Nov 9...

MTV have announced to today that Chvrches, The 2 Bears, La Roux and more will perform during MTV Music Week which will take Glasgow by storm ahead of the 2014 MTV EMA at the SSE Hydro on Sunday November 9.

Running from Monday November 3 to Sunday November 9, MTV Music Week, in association with Heineken, has got something to suit every taste with live music events at 17 of Glasgow’s most iconic venues.MTV worked closely with plugged-in Glaswegians to choose the best bars, clubs and hangouts to take part in the live music spectacular.

As the city gets ready for the MTV EMA, Music Week will get local music fans hyped with a gig or club night to suit everyone. Homegrown talent CHRVCHES will kick things off in style on Monday 3 with a sold-out gig at Scotland’s famous Barrowlands Ballroom.

[related]On Tuesday 4, musical duo The 2 Bears will team up with Club MTV to bring their unique pop house sounds to King Tuts Wah Wah Hut. With The 2 Bears including one member of electronic band Hot Chip, Joe Goddard, it’s set to be an amazing show.

Singing sensation La Roux has teamed up with Club MTV to bring a night of synth-pop on Wednesday 5 to student favourite O2 ABC, where you can expect to hear hit singles In for the Kill and Bulletproof, to name just two.

British indie band Circa Waves will take to the stage on Thursday 6 at Oran Mor in Glasgow’s West End, playing fan favourites such as Get Away and Young Bloods - it’s set to be a sell-out.

Over the Friday/Saturday, Club MTV has teamed up with legendary Scottish music promoters Colours to create a one-off DJ special & will play host to some top electro and house DJs

Closing the week of music talent is the godfather of R&B, Trevor Nelson, who is set to bring the house down at O2 ABC on Sunday 9 with his legendary licks.

With Glasgow’s status as one of only seven cities in the world to be given the UNESCO City of Music title, it’s no coincidence that MTV has chosen to bring some of the world’s leading artists to the legendary Glaswegian crowds.
