Find Out Which Duo Have Won DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs Poll For 2015...
Hint: they come from Belgium...
After a two year run with the title of the world's No.1 DJ, Hardwell has been de-throned from the head of the brand new DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll, making way for Belgian brothers Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. Well done guys!
Just announced at the Amsterdam Music Festival before performing in from of tens of thousands of dance music fans, the duo, who last year placed at No.2 in the poll, said: “Thank you so much! Since day one we’ve put every bit of energy and time we can into our music and our shows in order to give the fans the greatest experience any DJ could offer. So it’s such an incredible honor to receive this award knowing it’s from the guys that matter most to us.”
Dimitri and Mike have had a phenomenal year. They dominated the festival scene playing Tomorrowland, EDC Las Vegas, Miami’s Ultra Music Festival, Creamfields, and Mysteryland. All 40,000 tickets for the launch of their ‘Bringing The Madness 3.0’ shows at Belgium's Sportpaleis Antwerpen sold out in under 40 minutes - a feat previously only managed by U2, Madonna, Beyoncé, and Michael Jackson. They released a track with Ne-Yo and are now working on their debut album.
Elsewhere in the Top 5, there's not a lot of movement - last year's topper Hardwell drops to No.2, Martin Garrix climbs one place to No.3, Armin van Buuren falls one to No.4 and Tiësto won't budge at No.5.
This year's highest new entry sees Tiësto collaborator KSHMR enter at No.23, while drum & bass is represented once again after a total absence last year with Andy C and Netsky re-entering at Nos. 92 and 75 respectively.
