Martin Garrix Lit Up Derry Londonderry With Club MTV
Did we really just get to hang out with one of the biggest DJs in the world?
On Saturday 10th September 2016, Club MTV headed back to Ebrington Square, taking some of the biggest dance stars on the planet with them.
Following in the footsteps of previous acts such as Galantis, NERVO and Chase & Status it was time for MTV fave Example and EDM’s youngest superstar Martin Garrix to take to the stage.
The excitement had been building in the city all day, with thousands of dance music fans travelling from all over the country to be part of this special event. As the sun started to set Ireland’s hottest DJ Junior J kicked things off with a slick set featuring hit after hit.
Up next were Club MTV residents R3WIRE & Varski who got the crowd hyped up for an unforgettable night with their flawless show and high energy levels.
Then came DJ wire who took to the decks, building the anticipation before Example stepped on stage to insane cheers from the crowd. We were treated to hit after hit including ‘We’ll Be Coming Back’, ‘All The Wrong Places’ and more. By this point the crowd were going wild, singing back every word and jumping higher than we could ever have imagined.
Now then, let’s talk about the headliner… Martin Garrix. Fresh from an insane summer, jam-packed with festivals, it was time for the Dutch DJ to show Derry Londonderry what he was made of.
The ‘In The Name Of Love’ hit maker absolutely killed it playing a mix of the hottest EDM tracks around right now including some of his own massive hits such as ‘Don’t Look Down’ and ‘Lions In The Wild’.
The atmosphere was electric, the crowd’s energy was unbelievable and Garrix was enjoying every minute of it – taking to his own Instagram account to tell his 7.8 million followers how much fun he was having.
