Cole Sprouse might be the undisputed emperor of social-media but it turns out he isn’t looking for anything particularly creative in the people who slide into his DMs. 

The Riverdale actor probably gets more than his fair share of Jughead fans doing their best to catch his attention, but has now explained that he loves nothing more than a picture involving fish and a pair of glorious boat shoes.

Offering up some guidelines for anyone trying to win his heart, Cole wrote: "If you don’t jam to Dave Matthews, wear boat shoes, and aren’t holding a fish in your profile pic – don’t even TRY to slide into a DM." 

One person who discovered they actually fit this brief perfectly was co-star Casey Cott, who slid into the replies with a picture of himself holding a trout alongside lyrics from DMB song ‘Ants Marching.’

Naturally fans have taken this advice to heart and are probably already pulling on their boat shoes and purchasing fishing rods to give themselves the best shot of winning Cole’s approval.

“Damn I guess it’s time to grab my boat shoes and go fishing,” one person wrote, as another said: “How do I illustrate that I'm jamming to Dave Matthews. I can fulfil the other criteria though. Help me here.”
