Cole Sprouse Says That Jughead Jones Might Die In Riverdale
Fans don't want to see the words Jughead and dead in the same sentence ever again.
Fans have been left on tenterhooks about what could possibly go down in the next installment of the show after the mid-season finale seemingly wrapped up the identity of the mysterious Black Hood killer.
Let's get checking out an update from MTV News...
With the show set to return to screens this week, Cole appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to discuss if there any major plot twists we should be preparing ourselves for.
“Can we talk about Riverdale and maybe give us a spoiler or something fun?” Jimmy prompted, to which Cole responded that his character could finish the series in a coffin: “I die,” he replied.
Considering Cole is one of the core four alongside Betty Cooper, Archie Andrews, and Veronica Lodge - we’re pretty sure he’s not going to spontaneously combust over a milkshake in Pop’s Diner.
On the plus side, he did spill some information about the “civil war” Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa previously teased: “The first half of the season has been us preparing for this impending and possible riot. Much of Jughead’s narrative was him being positioned on either side of this and trying to mediate this.”
“So the second half of the season is me in a leather jacket, with a comb, on a motorcycle, with one foot on either side of this impending war.”
Cole can also see the irony in his transformation from The Suite Life poster-boy to badass Southside Serpent, adding: “Season two I’m riding a motorcycle and wielding a switch blade, which is something my little quivering Disney self never thought would happen, if I’m being quite honest about it. I’m in the gang."
Alright, no more jokes about Jughead expiring before his time, please.
