Red Nose Day Raises A Record £75.1m

The British public raised a record £75.1 million during last night's annual Comic Reliefcharity - with [uuid=36113e9a-691f-4c28-8fff-f3df35e0cc83]One Direction performed in the studio, whileSimon Cowell was shown marrying himself in a star-studded ceremony and Jessie J and Holly Willoughby, while comedian Peter Kay journeyed from Belfast to London on a sofa - in a "sponsored sit down".

Lenny Henry, Jennifer Saunders, John Bishop, Mickey Flanagan, Snow Patrol, Miranda Hart, Dermot O'Leary and Miss Piggy were among the other famous names who took part in the telethon.
