Whoah! One Direction Are Looking A Bit Ropey On Comic Relief

Comics stand in for boy band as they form 'No Direction'...

It was always likely to be one of the highlights of last night's Comic Relief fundraising marathon, but the appearance of "No Direction" ended up surpassing expectations.

With One Direction unable to make it to the annual telethon, comedians Jack Dee, Nick Helm, Patrick Kielty, Vic Reeves and Johnny Vegas stepped into the breach - with each mimicking one of the famous fivesome.

And they did a damn good job of it, with special props due to Vegas for making an unlikely lookalikey and to Dee for putting in the most uncomfortable-looking performance since Madonna's tumble at the BRIT Awards.

The middle-aged man band were introduced in a video clip by the real 1D - with Harry Styles calling them "the greatest One Direction tribute band of all time".

And we're not gonna disagree after seeing the triumphant live performance of Best Song Ever which followed.

Those youngsters better watch their backs!
