Conor Maynard Gives 'Priceless' Performance

On Thursday night ( June 27) Conor Maynard took to the stage at Chelsea FC's Stanford Bridge club, Under the Bridge, for an intimate gig in association with Mastercard. 

 

The Priceless event is one of many gigs being held by the company which has also seen Ne-Yo and Rita Ora perform in packed out venues for lucky Mastercard holders. 

 

Feeling: The club is spacious and a standing area surrounds the sizeable dance floor. The crowd was a mixture of people from younger fans to a more mature audience.  Conor’s eager fans – or the Mayniacs as they are also known - stood at the foot of the stage to be ever closer to their idol.

 

The Look: The venue was nicely lit, not too dark, not too bright but during Conor’s performance ,the place was filled with bright colours and a back drop showing his music videos. The stage was relatively big as Maynard danced around and interacted with his audience. 

 

 

Tunes: The 2012 MTV Brand New winner powered through hits such as Turn Around, Vegas Girl and Can’t Say No, as well as giving renditions of Nicki Minaj’s Starships, Daft Punk’s Get Lucky and Swedish House Mafia’s Don’t You Worry Child. 

 

He kicked off his set with more lively tunes to get the crowd on their feet, before leaving the slower songs before the end. However, the audience were soon encouraged to put their hands in the air as Maynard picked up the pace to go out on a high.  

 

Banter: Conor did try to interact with his Mayniacs as much as he could, but the slow set – while it may have been beautiful – brought down the tone of the night. Thankfully, he salvaged this with some lively hits for a finish. 

 

Celeb Spots: Being in Stamford Bridge we kept our eyes peeled for some footballers, but they must have been stuck at training. Instead, we  were pleasantly surprised to see Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock drop by to support the opening act MO, who she is friends with.

 

Sweat Factor: Under the Bridge is spacious and well air conditioned. Also it wasn’t crammed with people with made it much more comfortable. Although, as Maynard got the crowd to their feet, it got warmer but never too hot.

 

Summary: It was a fun night and Conor gave a great performance -  even posing for pictures after with fans.
