Corinne Bailey Rae Comes Home!

EXCLUSIVE: The silky-voiced star covers Zeppelin and talks Harvey Nicks at Leeds gig...

Corinne Bailey Rae took to the stage in her hometown of Leeds over the weekend as part of her current UK tour.
The coveted vocalist walked on stage to the sound of a sold-out Leeds crowd going bananas, clearly excited to have one of the citys most successful recent exports back on home turf.
Working through her chart topping self-titled debut album, Corinne delivered a polished, dreamy show, with help from her heavyweight backing band and a twinkling starry backdrop.
After telling the audience that she's fed up with everyone trying to pigeon hole artists, herself included, into genres, Bailey Rae surprised all-comers by launching into a cover of the Led Zeppelin classic Since Ive Been Loving You.
Corinne also thanked Harvey Nichols for helping one of her songs come about. I wrote this one when I was working on the jewellery counter at Harvey Nicks in Leeds, she said, it can get quiet on there sometimes.
Before a powerful acoustic rendition of Like A Star, Corinne also gave thanks to Sinead OConnors stomach bug, as that was the only reason she got asked to appear on Jools Holland, the big break that helped catapult her into the spotlight. I was a last minute stand-in, she said. And its all thanks to Sineads stomach bug.
Nothing compares to flu.
Corinne Bailey Rae plays Liverpool tomorrow night (April 11).
