Cory Monteith Was 'Feeling Fantastic' Before Death

Cory Monteith was said to be "feeling fantastic" before [uuid=986b759a-19dc-4824-99a8-5ec161140361]Gleedirector Adam Shankman. 

 

The 31-year old star - who shot to fame playing Finn Hudson in the hit US TV show - was found dead in a hotel room in Vancouver, Canada on Saturday (July 13).

 

After Cory's passing shook the showbiz world, Shankman has now told CNN: "I had several interactions with him yesterday where he said that he was doing amazing.

 

"He even said 'I am feeling fantastic'. I'm like everybody else, really devastated and confused by what happened."

 

Monteith's mentor Maureen Webb has also recalled her last meeting with the actor, revealing that two days before his passing, they went for dinner.

 

She is quoted by The Metro as saying that they had "a quiet night with a lot of laughing. He looked so good, so healthy.

 

"We ate a lot of food…We drank the rhubarb lemonade."

 

She went on to add that Cory was a supporter of her Project Limelight Society following his battle with substance addiction, stating: "I told him, 'I remember everything we talked about when we first talked about this project. Now it’s happening'.

 

"His face just lit up. He was in great spirits."

 

A post-mortem examination on Monteith's body is due to take place today (July 16), with the autopsy including toxicology tests.

 

Officials added to Sky News that the results will not be available for several days.
