Celebrities have been expressing their shock and sadness at the tragic death of Cory Monteith.
As the news spread, stars throughout the showbiz world took to Twitter with messages of condolence, with many of Glee's cast and crew mourning the young actor.
Mark Salling - who plays Puck on the hit US show - simply tweeted: "no", while Principal Figgins actor Iqbal Theba wrote: "OMG!! My Cory..."
Dot-Marie Jones (Coach Bieste) tweeted: "I HAVE NO WORDS! MY HEART IS BROKEN CORY WAS NOT ONLY A HELL OF A FRIEND HE WAS ONE AMAZING MEN THAT I WILL HOLD CLOSE TO MY HEART FOREVER... I AM BLESSED TO HAVE WORKED WITH HIM AND LOVE HIM SO MUCH! MY HEART IS WITH HID FAMILY AND OUR WHOLE GLEE FAMILY! I LOVE YOU ALL! (sic)"
Regular Glee director Adam Shankman's emotional tribute read: "Goodbye my amazing and beautiful friend. The lights in my world just grew dimmer. The world just lost one of our best. I love u so much..."
Others were also shocked to hear of Monteith's death.
Demi Lovato tweeted: "#RIPCoryMonteith... So unbelievably tragic. Please #prayforLea.."
Kim Kardashian also took to Twitter, to say: "Just heard about the death of Cory Monteith. So sad. Prayers 4 his family. Praying 4 Lea too! Words cant describe what they must be feeling."
Singer Taylor Swift simply wrote: "Speechless. And for the worst reason," while Rihanna joined the tributes, tweeting: "Cory Monteith, may your spirit be at peace, and may you fly with the angels... Heartbreaking, my prayers are with all of his loved ones!"
Monteith was found dead in his hotel room on Saturday (13 July). The cause of death is as yet unknown.
