The Hole star recalls a time she saw Peaches with drug paraphernalia in 2010, saying she wasn't surprised heroin played a part in her death...
Courtney Love has opened up about Peaches Geldof's death during an interview with Grazia magazine - revealing that she tried to help the troubled socialite.
Following the revelations that heroin was "likely" to have played a part in Peaches sudden passing, Love has revealed that she wasn't surprised by the drugs role in her death.
When asked about Geldof's death, the former Hole frontwoman stated: "You just can't believe it happened, it's so f***ing tragic.
"This girl was vivacious, so full of life and it is weird and horrible that she has passed away."
Courtney went on to add that she was stunned by Peaches death as she believed the mother-of-two had turned her life around, but noted: "But then I read heroin was involved and I was not shocked. I know how Peaches liked opiates."
Love recalled a time in 2010 when Peaches was living in Los Angeles and was using drugs, explaining how the 25-year old visited her at the Chateau Marmont with a friend who had a bag full of prescription drugs including the opiate-based Oxycontin, known as 'hillbilly heroin.'
The 49-year old rock chick told the mag: "My drug was heroin, I stopped taking it in the Nineties, but I have taken the pills, the Roxycontin, Oxycontin.
"Peaches was unfortunately in my room with a friend who had a bag full of these drugs... like 500 pills and I wanted it so badly, never have I wanted anything more; no man, no money, and I had to physically push Peaches and her friend out the door.
"I was shaking and I kept thinking of the way her mother died and I thought I owe it to this girl to be an example."
She added: "I was trying to help her, I was trying to mentor her, but at that point in her life, it proved to be impossible. Now the parallels to her Mommy are horrific. It terrifies me for my own child."
