Courtney Stodden: “Blondes Have More Fun, Honey!”
The reality TV babe talks Gwen Stefani, Marilyn Monroe and Anna Nicole Smith with MTV…
By Portis Wasp
At only 19-years-old, Courtney Stodden has the body, boobs, fluffy personality and Peta spokesperson credentials required to join an elite group of blonde bombshells who have come before her. Having released two singles – Don’t Put It On Me and Reality – which have had over 6 million views on YouTube, she starred in the 12th series of Celebrity Big Brother last year, making it to the penultimate night before being shown the door.
Courtney can already say she’s had a go at marriage, after getting hitched to 51-year-old Doug Hutchison when she was only 16, and there isn’t a day that goes by when she’s not papped on the streets of Hollywood running errands in a pair of skyscraper heels.
We caught up with Stodders to chat about her love of famous blondes, her relationship with Doug and turning down $5 million to star in her own porn flick. You know, the usual stuff you ask a blonde bombshell.
MTV UK: Hey Courtney! How’ve you been?
Courtney Stodden: I've been doing so good. Lots of fun things happening right now...
MTV UK: So let’s get one thing out of the way – what’s the deal with Doug, girl? Is it really over between you two?
Courtney: Doug and I remain the best of friends. We still work very closely together and want nothing but the best for one another.
MTV UK: You said no to an offer of $5 million to do a porn film. Frankly, we think you’re worth at least double that, but did you find that offer offensive?
Courtney: No, I didn't find it offensive at all... It's just not the direction I desire for myself.
MTV UK: You recently paid homage on your Instagram to a number of iconic blondes who are no longer with us, namely Jayne Mansfield, Eva Gabor, Marilyn Monroe, and Farrah Fawcett. How do you relate to these ladies?
Courtney: I admire these legendary women not only for their beauty, but for their confidence to follow their passion, and to embrace their feminine power.
MTV UK: Does it worry you that for some of those blondes their beauty was ultimately their downfall?
Courtney: No, it doesn't worry me, but it's terribly unfortunate how Marilyn Monroe and Anna Nicole Smith's lives ended so soon. I drove past the house where Anna Nicole used to live in Studio City, just out of curiosity. I was an avid fan of The Anna Nicole Smith Show and that house was always featured in the episodes.
MTV UK: What would you say made these blonde babes so iconic?
Courtney: They had the courage to be themselves, not to mention each one of them was dumb like a fox…
MTV UK: Marilyn famously sang about diamonds being a girl’s best friend – would you agree?
Courtney: Diamonds are definitely a girl’s best friend, but so are a sexy pair of high heels.
MTV UK: You’re also a fan of Hollaback blonde Gwen Stefani. What’s your favourite Stefani jam?
Courtney: I definitely have a girl crush on this chick! I love all of her jams... but my favourite in particular is Luxurious from her Love. Angel. Music. Baby. album. Uber sexy!
MTV UK: You strike us as being a blonde with a lot of ambition; what would you like to achieve in the next year?
Courtney: I want to give back to society through specific charities that are dear to my heart, learn how to drive and continue adding to my extensive high heel collection.
MTV UK: What about voicing a Disney Princess? There really aren’t enough blondes in Disney films…
Courtney: Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty are gorgeous lil' blonde princesses. I love them both.
MTV UK: What do you love most about being blonde?
Courtney: Blondes have more fun, honey!
MTV UK: So, if we want to steal your look next time we visit the hair salon, what shade of blonde should we ask for?
Courtney: Platinum, please.
