Daft Punk Get Lucky With First UK No.1 Single

Daft Punk have scored their first ever UK No 1 single with Nile Rodgers, the legendary Chic guitarist who worked on Get Lucky, spoke to the Official Charts Company about the single's success.

He said: "I am so honoured and completely blown away. It's an amazing thing to have happen, really cool.

"Whenever you work on music, whenever you write or produce, whatever I do, I always try and do the very best I can.

"The relationship between myself and Daft Punk was just so unbelievably right. So, the fact that it has gone to Number 1 is humbling. It is extraordinary."

Last week's No 2, Will.I.Am's #thatPower (ft. Justin Bieber) fell two places to No 3 - while Calvin Harris' I Need Your Love (ft. Ellie Goulding) rose three places to No 4.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis rounded out the top five with Can't Hold Us - their follow-up to the wildly successful Thrift Shop.

Over in the Official UK Albums Chart, Michael Buble held on to the top spot with To Be Loved.

Frank Turner's Tape Deck Heart was a new entry at No 2, as was Will.I.Am's Willpower at No 3.

Pink's The Truth About Love was a non-mover at No 4 and Emeli Sandé's Our Version Of Events dropped two places to No 5 - setting a new chart record with its 63rd week in the top 10.

The Olympics opening ceremony star has now eclipsed The Beatles for the longest number of consecutive weeks for a debut album to remain in the top 10.

The Fab Four's Please Please Me managed 62 weeks between 1963 and 1964.
