Are Daft Punk Going On Tour In 2017?

What's going on?

A mysterious website called Alive 2017 has popped up online – sending Daft Punk fans into a frenzy. Are Daft Punk going on tour in 2017?!

Let's look into this. Daft Punk have two live albums, called ‘Alive 1997’ and ‘Alive 2007’. You can see a pattern emerging here, can’t you? If the French pioneers only tour every ten years - then 'Alive 2017' makes total sense.

Next, if you look a little closer, the page contains hidden numbers: ‘23’ ‘05’ ‘33’ and ‘22’. Some very helpful Reddit users have been hammering away at the site, and they reckon that the numbers are actually coordinates leading to Paris, Los Angeles, London, New York, Tokyo, Sao Paulo, Ibiza and Indio.

The sentence “WAKE DATE 2016-10-27” is also buried in the source code. No, we don’t know what that means either, but it could mean that an announcement is due later this month…

However, before you get too excited, there are some problems. The Alive 2017 website isn’t particularly ‘professional’, leading us to believe that it could be fake, plus Daft Punk’s own management have denied rumours that the Robot duo will be touring next year. (Although, Daft Punk’s management would say that, wouldn’t they?)

As soon as we know for sure, we’ll upload a news story onto the Internet.

In other Daft Punk news, the duo recently appeared on The Weeknd’s comeback single, ‘Starboy’. Read more on that here.
