Jennifer Ellison Thanks Fans For Support After DOI Injury
The Brookside babe cut her head open after attempting a scorpion kick...
The former Brookside actress was attempting a scorpion kick move during her routine with partner Dan Whiston, when she accidentally struck her head with the blade of her boot.
Despite the incident, Ellison went on to complete her routine, scoring 19 points - her highest of the competition so far.
Jennifer looked clearly shaken from the accident and was rushed backstage to receive treatment, leaving Whiston to explain: "She's in great hands, she's getting patched up.
"The good news is she's going to be okay. It was a very scary moment.. when I looked down, her whole hair was just red.
"Everybody cares about her very much, including me. She is a trooper... she wanted to finish that routine and I thought it was her best skate."
Ellison has now commented on her injury, writing on the DOI website: "This is a message to everyone who has been in touch to see if I'm ok. I'm absolutely fine and I've been glued together,
"I've got a bit of a headache and I'll probably feel even worse in the morning, but thanks for all the support, it means so much to me. Hopefully I won't have to do the routine again."
Despite the mishap, the 28-year old made it safely through to the next round, with Rosemary Conley becoming the latest celebrity to lose her place on the show.
Next Sunday (19th February), the remaining nine contestants will face an Ultimate Skills Test, where two celebs will leave the show in a double elimination.
