Daniel Radcliffe Event Cancelled Due To Crowds

Huge numbers turn out to try to see former Harry Potter star at Mexican premiere...

An event to mark the launch of Daniel Radcliffe's new movie What If in Mexico had to be scrapped due to the huge numbers of people who attended.

The former Harry Potter star was due to put in an appearance on the red carpet in Mexico City yesterday, but organisers didn't bank on so many people turning up and crowd control concerns led to the plug being pulled.

Distributor Diamond Films Mexico explained that Mexico City's civil protection agency had told it to can the event, due to safety concerns.

"We appreciate the response and enthusiasm for this event," the company said in a statement.

"Sorry, but this decision is out of our control."

The film's premiere went ahead, but without the celebs on the red carpet, The Hollywood Reporter claims.
