Danny Boyle 'Probably Making Period Movie Next'

But Slumdog Millionaire director says it 'won't be like Downton Abbey'...

Acclaimed filmmaker Danny Boyle has revealed that his next big-screen project will probably be a period movie, but he has warned that it "won't be like Downton Abbey".
Speaking to Digital Spy, the director behind Trainspotting and Slumdog Millionaire revealed that he was working on two projects which were set in the past.
But he stressed that he would be determined not to make a typical British period drama.
"All I can say is they won't be like Downton Abbey," he said. "It won't be that kind of period movie."
He has previously expressed an interest in making a film of Andrew Miller's novel Ingenious Pain - with a script from Patrick Marber.
The story is set in 18th century Britain and Russia and concerns a surgeon who is impervious to pain.
Boyle recently revealed that he had "[uuid=2ef83256-2bf6-46ce-90ea-b27c7bf7ea27]treated Ewan McGregor badly[/uuid]".
