David Beckham: I'm Going To Be An Actor
Football legend announces plan for major career change...
There is hardly a grand tradition of footballers crossing over into acting after their retirement - we can only think of Vinnie Jones, Eric Cantona and the cast of Escape To Victory (ask your dad).
But David Beckham has never been shy of breaking down boundaries between sport and showbiz - and the former soccer star has now confirmed that he's got his eye on a career as a thespian.
40 Times David Beckham Was A Total DILF
Speaking to The Times, the 40-year-old hunk showed his typical modesty as he announced his plans, saying: "I am very aware that many sportsmen and other celebrities have turned their hand to acting and failed.
"I know that it is a tough profession, where you need a huge amount of skill and discipline, and I wouldn't want to push myself forward too soon, without learning more about it, and doing a lot more practice.
“But what I have done so far, I have loved. I can deal with most things. I am a well-known person, so I have got used to criticism."
Becks has already had a small role in his pal Guy Ritchie's Knights Of The Roundtable, which is due out next year.
There's no word on what else he might have up his sleeve yet though.
It's about time there was a remake of The Full Monty though, eh?
Just a thought Dave.
