David Beckham 'Insulted By New Zealand's PM'

John Key alleged to have called British soccer star 'thick as bats**t'...

New Zealand's Prime Minister John Key is reported to have insulted David Beckham to a group of schoolchildren.
The politician is alleged to have told pupils at a school in Dunedin about his meeting with Becks back in 2008, when LA Galaxy were playing in NZ and Mr Key had just been elected.
He apparently said that the soccer star was handsome and very friendly, but "thick as bat s**t".
There has been no official response from Becks' people, but The Mirror quoted a source as saying: "For someone supposedly thick, David has done pretty well to have become one of the world's most successful footballers and to be part of the bid to bring the Olympics to London.
"That doesn’t sound like someone thick to me."
Two years ago Mr Key was criticised after making a joke about being eaten by members of New Zealand's Maori population.
His office has made no comment on the alleged Becks gaffe.
