David Bowie To Be Honoured At The 2016 BRIT Awards With A Special Tribute

Music legend David Bowie will be honoured in a special tribute at the 2016 BRIT awards ceremony next month.

Organisers of the event have confirmed that they will honour Bowie, however, the nature of the tribute is yet to be revealed. 

BRITs Chairman, Max Lousada has released a statement about the decision to honour the late artist, saying: "David Bowie was one of the most important and influential songwriters and performers ever and, like so many fans around the world, we're devastated to hear of his loss."

He continued: "A visionary and groundbreaking pioneer, he has inspired generations of musicians and will continue to shape music for many years to come.

"Naturally, we wish to honour his extraordinary life and work at the forthcoming BRIT Awards and pay a fitting tribute to one of our greatest icons" he added.

The nominations for the 2016 BRIT Awards will be announced on Thursday (14th January).
