Wizards of Waverly Place's David Henrie Apologises Following Arrest For Loaded Gun At LAX
“I am so sorry for any trouble it caused.”
David Henrie is speaking out surrounding his arrest at Los Angeles International airport due to possession of a loaded weapon.
The Wizards of Waverly Place star was detained for reportedly carrying a loaded M&P Shield 9mm pistol, which was discovered during a TSA screening before boarding his flight.
Henrie released a statement on Twitter addressing the situation, saying: “I take responsibility for the situation at LAX today. I unintentionally brought my legally owned gun which is registered in my name to the airport.”
“I am so sorry for any trouble it caused, but I am appreciative of TSA’s efforts in implementing the safety laws that are in place to protect our beautiful country,” he wrote.
He went on to add: “More than anything I am humiliated and embarrassed that this even happened.”
“But I am thankful to the TSA, LAPD and all involved today for their kindness and their professionalism during this process.”
The actor, who also starred in the hit sitcom How I Met Your Mother, was immediately detained at the airport, and was only later released after paying bail at the total of $10,000, according to PEOPLE.
But after releasing his statement, LAX police thanked Henrie via Twitter for being cooperative throughout their investigation, saying: “It’s unfortunate you had to meet our officers under these circumstances but we appreciate your professionalism and thanking the police officers for doing their jobs not something we hear a lot of lately.”
“Safe travels & God Bless,” they added.
So, all's well that ends well? We guess.
