Deadpool 2 Is Officially Happening *Fist Pump Emoji*
We’re glad we were wearing the brown pants…
We always hoped, we always dreamed, but today we finally know: the Deadpool sequel is officially happening!
Announced at CinemaCon by 20th Century Fox co-chairman, Stacey Snider, Ryan Reynolds, writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, and directed Tim Miller, are all set to return to work on Deadpool 2. And seriously, given just how great the Merc-with-a-mouth’s first outing was, they’d be colossal fools not to!
Now, we’re pretty thin on the ground when it comes to plot points, co-stars, or anything for that matter, but if the post-credit scene from Deadpool is to be believed, we could well be seeing long-time Deadpool comic book co-star, Cable.
Now, Cable, for those who aren’t familiar, is a pretty, pretty, prettyyyyyyy, pretty exciting character to explore. Usually affiliated with the X-Men, Cable is a telekinetic, telepathic, time-travelling, apocalypse-preventing badass, and he and Deadpool go way back.
There are a few rumours around the casting of Cable, with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jon Hamm, and Kurt Russell all in the running to play Deadpool’s possible partner, and to tell you the truth we can’t wait to see any of them in the role!
So, long story short, we may not know much about Deadpool 2, but one thing’s for certain: we know we’re excited!
