Is This Marvel Star About To Leave For The DC Universe?

Not only has DC’s upcoming Joker spin-off confirmed an official title (it’s called, um, “Joker”), it also seems to be on the brink of poaching a new cast member from the Marvel roster. Because according to reports, rising star Zazie Beetz is in talks to join the production.

Beetz played Domino in the recent Deadpool sequel, and she’s apparently all set to star as “a single mother who catches the interest of the man who would one day become the Joker”. Sounds like a fun time for her…

Cameras are set to roll on the project in September, with Warner recently confirming that the film will open on 4 October 2019. We also have an official synopsis, with the film described as “an exploration of a man disregarded by society [that] is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale.”

Joaquin Phoenix is all set to star, with the film having been compared to the likes of Taxi Driver and The King Of Comedy in terms of tone. Consider us officially excited!
